Meet Powder Puff: One Print, Three Ways to Wear It

There's a certain kind of print that stops you in your tracks. One that feels familiar and fresh all at once—like something you've seen in a vintage photograph but couldn't quite place. Powder Puff is that print.

Sourced from our New York print house and inspired by the charm of 1950s design, Powder Puff reimagines a classic era in a palette that feels entirely of the moment. Delicate bursts of baby pink, dusty blue, mint, soft lavender and ivory scatter across a deep black base ensure that Powder Puff feels feminine without being precious, but graphic without being loud. It's the kind of print that does the work for you.

And because we believe one incredible print deserves more than one way to wear it, Powder Puff arrives in three distinct styles. Same captivating print. Three different silhouettes. Three different stories to tell.

Here's how to find yours.

Style 01: Nivia Shirtdress

Classic structure. Playful spirit.

If you've always believed that a great shirtdress is one of the most reliable things in a wardrobe, this one will confirm everything you know. Our Powder Puff shirtdress takes the timeless shirtmaker silhouette and gives it a moment—the kind that happens when a considered cut meets a print this good.

A fit and flare shape gently defines the waist before falling into a softly pleated skirt, creating easy movement without sacrificing structure. The 3/4 length sleeves and front and back yoke with soft gathers keep it feeling polished, while the contrast Shiraz-covered buttons and separate belt with contrast buckle add those small details that elevate the whole thing.

It lands at knee length too, that sweet spot that works everywhere.

Perfect for: Office to after-work drinks, weekend brunches, daytime events, travel days when you still want to look intentional.

Wear with: Block-heeled mules or classic pointed-toe flats to lean into the vintage feel. A structured tote for day, or swap to a sleek clutch come evening. Keep accessories minimal—the print and those Shiraz buttons are already doing the talking.

Who it suits best: The woman who gravitates toward classic dressing but wants a print that gives her outfit a personality. If you love structure, appreciate a well-placed detail and prefer your dresses to work harder than they look, this is yours.

Style 02: Auriana True Wrap Dress

The wrap dress, at its most effortless.

There's a reason the wrap dress has never really gone anywhere. It flatters, it adjusts, it works. Auriana takes everything that makes the silhouette so enduring and wraps it—quite literally—in the most beautiful version of Powder Puff we could imagine.

A true wrap silhouette cinches the waist and creates an elegant, elongating line, while contrast black piping traces the neckline and wrap edge with a refinement that makes the whole thing feel considered rather than casual. The softly flared hem with a delicate contrast-piped frill adds sweep and charm.

With its 3/4 straight sleeves and adjustable wrap fit, Auriana is the kind of dress that works on every body and every occasion, without requiring a second thought.

Perfect for: Long lunches, race days, wedding guest dressing, special occasions, a dinner out when you want to feel polished without being overdressed.

Wear with: Strappy heeled sandals or a kitten heel for events. Espadrilles or white sneakers for a more relaxed daytime take—the contrast piping means it always looks intentional regardless. A delicate gold chain and simple earrings is all you need.

Who it suits best: The woman who knows what works on her body and reaches for it without hesitation. Auriana is endlessly flattering, adjustable and deeply wearable—it's the style for the woman who wants to look effortlessly put-together the moment she gets dressed. Perfect for curves, and equally beautiful on a straighter silhouette.

Style 03: Jovanny Fit & Flare Dress

A little drama. A lot of charm.

If the shirtdress is the classic and Auriana is the elegant, Jovanny is the one with flair. Cut in a fit and flare shape with a contrast self-tie sash at the waist, a piped V-neckline and an asymmetrical frill hem, Jovanny brings movement, charm and just the right amount of drama to the Powder Puff story.

The asymmetrical hem is the detail that sets it apart. Combined with the petite ruffle and the V-neckline's contrast piping, Jovanny manages to feel playful and polished simultaneously—which is harder to pull off than it sounds, and exactly why it works.

The contrast black sash defines the waist beautifully while also doubling as a feature in itself. This is a small but significant design decision that grounds the lightness of the print.

Perfect for: Daytime occasions, garden parties, Melbourne Cup, long lunches, events where you want to be remembered.

Wear with: A strappy heeled sandal or block heel to balance the asymmetrical hem. Minimal jewellery—perhaps a single statement earring to complement the V-neckline. A small structured bag or sleek clutch. Let the dress lead.

Who it suits best: The woman who loves a little drama in her wardrobe but wants it delivered with elegance rather than effort. If you're drawn to movement, texture and the kind of details that make people ask "where is that from?"—Jovanny was made for you.

A Note on the Print Itself

All three Powder Puff styles are crafted in our Premium Stretch Matte Jersey—97% polyester, 3% spandex—which means they move beautifully, hold their shape and travel well. Each style is designed in Australia and carries the same care and fabrication standard Leona Edmiston has been known for across more than three decades.

Care is simple: reverse cold, gentle hand wash. And for storage, fold rather than hang, as with all jersey pieces, to keep the fabric at its best.
